Śląski Szeryf
An interactive reportage by Maria Zawała and Karol Gruszka documenting the work of the Silesian filmmaker Józef Kłyk.
"If you want to know the story of Józef Kłyk, sit comfortably in front of the computer and turn on our interactive documentary. Watch films about Mr. Józef and his westerns. See the archival photos, visit the virtual saloon. Take a historical journey to the Silesian Texas. Maybe you will find your ancestors!"
Józef Kłyka isn't called the creator of the Silesian western for nothing. The hero of his films is always Silesian (or Silesians) that came to America. His films tell about their fate over the Ocean, often referring to the difficult and tangled history of Upper Silesia.
"Wawrzek learns how to use his weapon, becomes a gunslinger and follows the bandits who robbed a nearby bank and with whom he has a beef ."
The heroes of Kłyka's westerns always speak Silesian.
