Agata Witczak / Acolon Ito X
Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts 3D and Virtual Occurrences studio at Media Art Department

Agata Witczak

The title of the work alludes to a mathematical formula describing a way of arranging dice as part of the Rummikub Dice Game (first introduced in Israel in 1980) by a person struggling with Alzheimer’s – a chronic and gradually worsening neurodegenerative disease which eventually leads to patient’s death. This activity works as a stimulator used by the family of the patient to captivate the remnants of their attention span.

Agata Witczak

The grandma of the artist, inflicted with a late-stage Alzheimer’s undertakes activity by trying to arrange the dice in ascending order. An interactive VR experience directly immerses the viewer into the world of the subject – a world of a person whose perception functions abnormally.
