Przewodnik śladami Oskara Kolberga
Urban tour routes through Warsaw, Poznań and Kraków offer an introduction to many facts from the biography of Oskar Kolberg, a way to get to know the personages whom he met, collaborated with and corresponded with as a musician and composer, and later as a field researcher, documentary artist and publisher of his work Lud.
Travelling along the regional routes, we get to know the lands where Kolberg performed research, and following in his footsteps we visit many places that are important for our history, getting to know the materials he gathered, illustrated by prints from the time.
We present almost 70 localities selected from the more than 800 where the researcher spent time, or from which he gathered material. The user traveling in the footsteps of Oskar Kolberg will be accompanied by recordings of folk musicians from the collections of Polish Radio’s Programme 2 and the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The application premiered on 22 July at the National Fryderyk Chopin Institution.
The application was created thanks to a collaboration of the Oskar Kolberg Institute, the Fryderyk Chopin Institute and the Institute of Music and Dance.
