Outopos
The interactive project Outopos was created as a hypertext structure combining graphics, text and animation. The Internet diagram constitutes a conceptual framework, on which was written the problem of utopia as a paradoxical “non-place” (from the Greek “ou-topos”). The virtual space, as a contemporary technological utopia (which doesn’t so much “exist” as continually “occur” between netizens) seems to be the natural environment for this kind of reflection.
One of the attributes of a diagram is constant change – penetrating into the multi-layered tissue of meanings and analysing various cultural references, the users themselves influence the graphic-conceptual shape of the project.
The work is part of the collection of the Bunkier Sztuki Gallery of Contemporary Art.
