MS Piłsudski
 experience   concept   virtual museum

The Polish ocean liner MS Piłsudski, ordered in Trieste and operating on the Gdynia-New York route in the interwar period, gets a second lease on life thanks to VR technology. The project offers both online experience on a dedicated website – a journey around the historical vessel – as well as unique virtual theatre performances played inside the wreck using VR. Such performances have taken place in Chicago, London, and Osaka, to name but a few.

The website enables users to experience a similar show online. As a result, we may discover the history and symbolic nature of the vessel, which was built after Poland regained independence and sank in unclear circumstances in 1939.

Owing to cooperation with the Maritime Museum, many archive objects related to the ship’s history have been published for the first time.
