The results of ethnographic research need not land only on the shelves of university libraries. However, popularising research results – completely underappreciated by the academic evaluation system – represents a new type of added value. This two-year research project concerning annual habits and rituals made the effort to “break out of the academic bubble” – providing us with an online map and calendar that enable us to take a virtual walk across living tradition sites.
The research was conducted in the Silesian and Opole voivodeships, and new results are constantly being uploaded to the site. The objective was to show the motivations of communities that cultivate local traditions and the changes that affect them. The presentation of research results is enriched with photographic documentation of the celebrations.
