Katarynka (Chatterbox) Foundation adapts films and theatre plays to the needs of the blind. Thanks to the Adapter project, works previously available only in cinemas and theatres throughout Poland are now accessible online, for private or educational purposes.
Adapter is the first film site of its kind for blind and deaf audiences. Its collection spans over 1500 works adapted to the needs of people with impaired vision and hearing and has gathered a sizable audience of 40 000, while the project itself garnered a host of awards and distinctions, including one from the Polish Film Institute.
The collection is tailor-made for educators, who can search its database using film genre or available format criteria, the latter including closed captions, sign language and audio description.
