A retrospective exhibition of Klocuch’s work, curated by Bartosz Zaskórski and Piotr Policht, found a cross-cutting selection of work from the artist’s entire online career, translated into exhibition form, laying bare the most important themes and attributes of his work.
"Klocuch is the personification of the small, sociopathic nerd that lies dormant in many of his viewers, but has never yet submitted to sublimation. Simultaneously he has refined methods; in his easy-going style he has achieved editing perfection and layered meta-jokes, and along with the development of YouTube as a medium has broadened the range of this work. (...) His ‘generation aezakmi’ is a significantly more accurate generation story than the original narration about the ‘Tamagotchi generation, the self-appointed voice of a generation.
“Klocuch is the materialisation of the collective id of people raised on video games in the 1990s, closed in the mysterious body of an eternal 12-year-old. The only 12-year-old, let us add, who has earned the title of a contemporary classic.”
