Acid Wizard Studio is a group founded in 2013 by Gustaw Stachaszewski, Artur Kordas and Jakub Kuć. Their first big project is Darkwood, a tale of horror that plays out in a surreal, nightmarish variation on the theme of provincial Poland. The exceptional atmosphere, amplified by sparse a graphic style that acts on the imagination and great emphasis on sound characteristics, helped the game win great popularity already in the early access phase. In 2017, three years after its limited access premiere, the final version of Darkwood saw the light of day. It drew outstanding reviews and a range of honours, including a nomination for Polityka magazine’s Passport awards in the category of digital culture.
